First Nations Resources
The following is a listing of online resources oriented towards supporting First Nations Communities. In Canada, the First Nations are the predominant indigenous peoples in Canada south of the Arctic Circle. Those in the Arctic area are distinct and known as Inuit. The Métis, another distinct ethnicity, developed after European contact and relations primarily between First Nations people and Europeans.

- North of Superior Healthcare Group The Hospice Palliative Care Program is facilitated by Wilson Memorial General Hospital site and Hospice Northwest, Thunder Bay and provides compassionate support in homes, hospitals and chronic care facilities in Marathon, Biigtgong Nishnaabeg First Nation and Pic Mobert First Nation by trained palliative care volunteers.

- Erie St. Clair Hospice Palliative Care Network Working with First Nation representatives to identify the palliative care needs of this community develop strategies to meet these needs and to assess the training needs of health care providers working within the Walpole Island First Nation community.

- Aboriginal Health Circle As the Patient’s First Legislation is being implemented, the NSM LHIN is establishing 5 sub-regions to better plan, coordinate and deliver health care. These five regions are: Barrie, Collingwood, Midland, Orillia, Muskoka.
