Ecumenical Bursaries Created To Assist Deserving Students

The Order of St. Lazarus Ecumenical Bursaries are created by Order funds and are presented to accredited Theological Colleges across Canada. The interest earned on the prin-ciple amount is then utilized for awarding of the bursaries from year to year, and to ensure continuation of the awards into the future.

The National Ecumenical Commission will match Commandery funds in order to provide a reasonable base from which to start a bursary. The bursaries have helped many students over the years with tuition assistance.

The objective of the Order is ultimately to have a bursary established in each Commandery across Canada.

To date, the Order has established ten bursaries located in:

Toronto School of Theology - University of Toronto
Atlantic School of Theology - Halifax, NS
Vancouver School of Theology - University of British Columbia
The Newman Theology College - Edmonton, Alberta
Faculty of Theology - Queen’s University
Faculty of Theology - McGill University
St. Paul’s College - University of Manitoba
St. Stephen’s Theological College - University of Alberta
Huron Theological College - University of Western Ontario
